Working in groups of 2, this 10 page paper will consider a specific population and a contemporary practice problem together, exploring some of the practice implications at micro, meso, and macro levels. For each section of the paper, students will make reference to specific theories, models, ideologies, and/or policies that shape professional intervention. For example, you may select women as a population and violence as your field of practice. Your paper will then explore practice dynamics related to violence against women (or violence perpetrated by women?) in work with individuals, in relation to organizational planning and program development, and at a structural level. Each section of the paper will be supported by research evidence from course readings, media reports, journal articles, and/or relevant organizational literature. It is anticipated that students will incorporate a minimum of 5 secondary sources, in addition to relevant course readings in preparing this assignment.
