Note: Based on reading and research, you must decide on a claim/thesis to be supported
throughout your essay.
Guidelines:

• Find additional writing by the author that you have selected and incorporate them into your
work.
• Research the author, his life, his education, his additional writings
• Review “YouTube” lectures/videos
• Drawing from the readings, present a claim of fact/value that you can support throughout
your paper – what is the author’s focus, how did he come to focus on these issues, what
do the readings teach that is of value for an educated mind, what value extends to the
outside world?
• Use a variety of peer reviewed journals, books, and internet sources
