NON-HODGKIN LYMPHOMA

Provide a concise report describing the etiology, local occurrence (prevalence/incidence), pathogenesis, diagnosis, clinical features (signs and symptoms), treatment, and preventative measures for your assigned disease topic.  Prepare your report as if you are a health professional communicating key information and concepts to fellow health professionals (your peers).  Assume that the reader is a trained professional who has had this class and understands the basics of disease, but needs to know the mechanisms and specific details to adequately protect the public.

i

Write about 5-8 pages, double-spaced, 12-point font, with one-inch margins.  Use paragraphs and complete sentences.  Keep it concise (to-the-point and on topic).  Cite your sources in the body of the text using a standard format (e.g., APA or CBE) and include them in the reference section.  Reports will be graded on relevant coverage and communication of key concepts in each of the areas below.

Written Reports

Detailed instructions for the written reports will be provided.  Use the CSUSB Writing Center for assistance.  Use the following format to cite literature:

Book source: Author(s) [Last name and initial (s)]. Year. Book Title. Publishing Company, City. Pages used.

All written work receiving points towards a final grade should be your own work and words.  Sources of information need to be properly cited and referenced. For written assignments, credit will not be given for the following:

  1. Use of another person’s work or ideas that are not properly cited and/or referenced is not acceptable.
  2. Copying or borrowing large sections of text (e.g., sentences) from another source is not acceptable, even if a reference is cited.
  3. Re-wording of another person’s sentences (e.g., changing a few words or reversing the sentence structure)
  4. Overuse of quotations (significant points will be deducted for multiple quotations)
  5. Use of Wikipedia or other non-academic sources that are continually updated/changed without adequate peer-review
  6. Use of “.org” websites as major sources, unless pre-approved by the instructor
  7. Serious, intentional plagiarism or cheating, which will likely result in a grade of “F” for the course. Submitting work completed in another class or from another student is considered cheating and subject to a failing grade in the course.
