PR Crisis Plan:

A proper PR plan should always include a PR crisis plan. For this assignment, you are tasked with putting one together.

Scenario:

As Rock Pic School prepares to open its doors to out-of-state students, a rumor is being circulated that out-of-state students are being given preferential treatment in the admissions process, including lower tuition fees and priority enrollment. The rumors are not true; however, the school is now facing a serious issue. While it is looking to expand enrollment of out-of-state students, it is still 100% dependent on in-state students for enrollment. If the rumor persists and decreases enrollment from in-state students, the school risks falling substantially short of its enrollment targets.

Tasks:

Create a crisis management PR strategy for Rock Pic School. Your strategy should address the following:

• Explain the official position the school will take regarding the rumor.
• Identify the official spokesperson for the school.
• Draft a statement that will be read out by the school spokesperson.
• Describe at least three tactics the school will employ to communicate its official position to stakeholders.
