11) Design an initial purification strategy to isolate the
enzyme isocitrate dehydrogenase. This is a mitochondrial enzyme
that catalyzes one of the reactions of the citric acid cycle. Using
bovine (from a cow) liver tissue as a starting material describe
the first steps of the purification process you would use to purify
the enzyme (i.e. the steps you would perform before doing an
ammonium sulfate precipitation). For these first steps, give as
much detail as possible; what fractions would you keep and what
fraction would you throw away?
