lab activity: Deadweight Tester
1. apply appropriate weights to the deadweight tester to create
pressures of 0, 5, 25, 45, 65, and 85 psi and record the
corresponding Bourdon tube pressure gage readings on your
deadsheet.
2. Measure deadweight tester piston shaft diameter using the
digital calipers and record the value on your date sheet. Weigh
80psi equivalent of dead weight tester weights on the bench scale
and record the value on your datasheet.
QUESTION
using the measured weight of the 80 psi deadweight tester
weights, theoretically determine the corresponding cross sectional
area and diameter of the piston.
Deadweight tester piston diameter: 0.359 inches
Measured weight of 80 psi deadweight test weights: 8lbs
