A concept map is a visual schematic of relationships among terms facts, and ideas that illustrates a particular topic or process fin today’s case, a mode of ATP production] Steps for constructing your ATP production concept map: Organize: Place your CENTRAL THEME in the middle or at the top of the other terms. For this project, the theme of your concept map is the mode of ATP production given on your clue card. Now consider the set of terms and ideas you’ve generated and, together, create groups and sub-groups of related items. Use your whiteboard to orga- nize the terms relative to one another in space. Try to group items to emphasize relation- ships. Feel free to rearrange items and introduce new items that you omitted initially. Note that some concepts will fall into multiple groupings Make connections: Use lines with arrows to connect and show the relationship between connected items. Write a word or short phrase by each arrow to specify the relation- ship. Many arrows can originate or terminate from each concept (if necessary). Arrows should only go one way, and each arrow should have a linking phrase attached to it.
