When a New Manager Stumbles, Who’s at Fault? You will choose to
analyze the problems that two of the three employees are
experiencing (i.e., you may choose whichever two employees you wish
to analyze; do not analyze all three). Using two different
motivation theories or concepts for each employee analyze why the
employees are having motivation problems (e.g., 2 different
concepts for Skrow, and then 2 different concepts for Durkee if you
chose to analyze Skrow and Durkee). Clearly explain each concept
you are using as well as how it helps to explain what is going
wrong with each of the employees. Then, indicate what motivation
strategies you would recommend for each person and why (i.e.,
explain what you would do to correct the problem(s) for each
individual you identify and why your strategy would be effective).
Note that the solutions should relate to the concepts/theories you
used to diagnose the problem. Your analysis of the problem and
solution for each employee will likely differ. Thus, you should
present a unique diagnosis (possibly using different concepts or
theories) when relevant, and provide a tailored strategy for each
person you select. iDurkee’s ; problem at home, lack of sales;
Skrow; ethical issues by churning accounts; not feeling important
in his job
