Brainstorming: Steps for Strategic
Decision-Making

Identify and research a recent (within the last 12 months)
strategic decision by a global company that appears to have been made for the
purposes of mitigating risk. Share the process you would have gone through as
part of a risk committee to arrive at the decision made by the company.

In response to your peers’ examples, critique the process
they have proposed and brainstorm ways to augment it. In other words, put
yourselves on your peers’ risk committees and strengthen the process with your
input. Identify additional strategies the company might have considered to
mitigate the identified risk.
