5. Critical Assignment: Each student will complete a worldview comparison project. This is the Critical Assignment for this course and must be passed at an acceptable rate in order to pass the course. Details for the required sections in the assignment are below (200 points) (1.1, 1.2, 2.2, 3.2, 3.3, 4.1, 4.2):
a. Philosopher worldview survey: Students will describe the following philosophers’ views for each of the five central worldview beliefs (God, metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, anthropology): Aristotle, Augustine, Hume, Nietzsche. Each philosopher’s worldview survey should be one page minimum, and each of the worldview beliefs therein should be addressed with sufficient detail, accuracy, and clarity (2-3 sentences minimum).
b. Philosopher comparison essay: Students will then write a short essay comparing two philosophers’ views (selected from Aristotle, Augustine, Hume, and Nietzsche) on the topic of God or anthropology (choose only one topic). This section of the Critical Assignment should be sufficiently detailed for a short essay (2-page minimum).
c. Students will use a minimum of three academic resources beyond the course texts for the assignment (blogs, wikipedia, popular media, etc. do not meet this requirement). Each source must be cited in the paper (include page numbers in citations) and included in a bibliography. Please contact the instructor in advance if you are unsure about a particular source.
d. The Critical Assignment should be six pages minimum, plus a title page and bibliography.
e. Papers should be , use 12-point Times New Roman font, and have 1-inch margins on all four side
